Washifyy (66/1, Havelock Road, Colombo 05) is the controller of the personal data you give us when you use the Washifyy apps and website. We process it in line with Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022.
What we collect
- Account: mobile number, name, optional email and language.
- Profile (optional): your year of birth, used only for anonymous statistics about which age groups use Washifyy and never shown to car washes; and the area where you usually wash your car, so we can show you offers for that area.
- Vehicles: registration number, make, model, colour, type. A number plate can be registered to one account at a time: if someone registers a car that is on your account, we text you (showing only part of their number) so you can tell us if it is a mistake.
- Bookings: which service, where and when, status, any extra services added at the car wash, what you paid and how (cash, card or in the app), discounts applied, ratings you give, and for home visits the address you enter. A car wash may give you a standing discount as a regular customer; it is recorded against your account at that car wash.
- Location: your approximate location when you search, to show car washes near you. You can deny location access; you can still search by area. When you book, we also note roughly which area you booked from (about 1 km, never your exact position) so the car wash can see which areas its customers come from.
- Usage: searches, listings viewed and booking steps, so we can see where car washes are needed and improve the app. These are kept for up to 12 months and reported only in aggregate.
- Device: push-notification token if you enable notifications.
Why we use it
- To run your bookings and show them to the Partner you booked with (name, phone, vehicle, and address for home visits).
- To send you booking confirmations, reminders and login codes by SMS or push.
- To keep the platform safe: preventing fake bookings and abuse.
- To improve Washifyy and decide where to add car washes, using aggregated statistics.
- To give each car wash statistics about its own business: busy times, popular services and cars, and which areas its customers come from. We share these with the car wash that served you, not with other car washes.
Who we share it with
Partners you book with (only what they need for your wash); our SMS provider to deliver codes and reminders; our hosting provider in Sri Lanka/Singapore. We never sell your data and do not share it with advertisers.
Your rights
You can view and edit your details in the app. You can ask us to correct or delete your data, or object to processing, by contacting [email protected] or 070 453 3345. Deleting your account removes your identity and vehicles; completed bookings are kept for Partners’ records without your name or number.
Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit; login uses one-time codes, never passwords. We keep account data while your account is active, booking records for 7 years as business records, and raw usage events for up to 12 months.
Cookies
The apps store a sign-in token on your device so you don’t need a code every time. The website uses no advertising cookies.
